Are you disappointed with life?
The Bible Companion Book 7 helps you reconcile the realities of life with the promises of God. A simple one-chapter-a-day format lets you engage with Scriptures without the pressure of schedules, homework, or heavy reading loads. Short daily readings and thought-provoking questions connect your story to God’s Word. For personal, group, or homeschool Bible study.
In the Books of Wisdom, God speaks to us in poetry—the language of the heart. These books reveal a God concerned not only about our minds and bodies, but also our emotions. Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs bridge the gap between life as we hoped it would be and life as it is. If you struggle with your life’s circumstances, The Bible Companion Book 7 will help you find guidance, comfort, and strength in the poetry of men and women who searched for God in the dark and found Him.

SONG OF SONGS
Songs stands as one of the most beautiful pieces of literature on love ever written. Its theme is beautifully stated in Songs 6:3—“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” God placed the desire to love and be loved within us. At the same time, Songs acknowledges we are incapable of giving or receiving love perfectly. Human love is not divine love, but human love teaches us that a greater love exists. Even if we are not married, even if our marriage is unsatisfying, Songs helps us work through our longings for intimacy and points us to the One whose love never disappoints. We are God’s beloved. In loving us, He teaches us how to love each other.

A SONG OF LOVE
Take me away with you—let us hurry!
Songs 1:4
THIS LOVE POEM IS GIVEN the title “Solomon’s Song of Songs.” Solomon’s name connects us to wisdom. We’re being told to pay attention—we cannot live wisely (the way God calls us to live) unless we know how to love. Our goal in each chapter is to discover what the story tells us about love. At times the language is graphic, but it is never crude. Like all of Scripture, these delicate and sensual poems have been given for our benefit.
COMPANION THOUGHT
Why do you think God inspired sensual poems to be in the Bible?
