I wrote this book because pain is universal. Every person carries wounds—some visible, some hidden. And when pain comes, we all look for relief. Sometimes we run to distractions. Sometimes to control. Sometimes to success, comfort, or isolation.
The truth is this: wanting the pain to stop is human. But where we run with that pain matters.
Painkillers was written to help people recognize the unhealthy places they turn for relief and to point them toward the only place where real healing can be found—God.
This book isn’t about pretending pain doesn’t exist. It’s about facing it honestly, understanding it deeply, and finding freedom on the other side of it.

Interview with the Author
- What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book?
One of the most surprising things I learned is that it takes a lot of time and patience to write a
book. It’s not an overnight exercise. I also learned that you need to enlist help along the way.
- Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
I do hear from readers. They tell me the book helped them, that they can relate to it. There’s a
wow factor — people say, “I was really drawn in, I can relate to it.” I hear thank-yous, things like
“It helped me” and “It spoke to me.”
- Do you read the genre you write? Why or why not?
I do. I read books that help people on their journey in life — not only by identifying problems but also by pointing toward solutions.
- How did you come up with the title for your book?
I think God inspired it. When you first hear the title, it takes you a minute — but then it becomes intriguing. I believe God inspired me to use it.
- What’s your favorite writing snack, drink, and/or music?
I don’t really have a favorite snack while writing — I actually try to stay away from that. My
favorite drink is coffee; I run on coffee.
- What is the most valuable piece of advice you’ve been given about writing?
As far as advice, the best I was given — and what I’d share with others — is simply this: write.
The journey of completing a book starts with the first word. A lot of people have a desire to
write, but never do. If you want to write, write.
